Margret Virostek's Electronic Portfolio
"Windows Movie Maker is a video creating/editing software application, included in Microsoft Windows Me, XP, and Vista. It contains features such as effects, transitions, titles/credits, audio track, timeline narration, and Auto Movie. New effects and transitions can be made and existing ones can be modified using XML code. Windows Movie Maker is also a basic audio track editing program. It can apply basic effects to audio tracks such as fade in or fade out. The audio tracks can then be exported in the form of a sound file instead of a video file." -Wikipedia

The purpose of this assignment was to create a one minute educational and creative video for students. We were to use Windows Movie Maker or Windows Movie Maker Live for a PC or iMovie for a Mac.  We could use still shots or screen captures to create the video, as well as using a video camera to capture the movie. Sounds were to be appropriate and enhance the movie and thrasitions should be smooth and effects should be used appropriately.   There needed to be a title slide and some sort of conclusion to the movie.  In creating a movie, I showed my proficiency in using a video editing program and my ability to integrate technology to meet a curricular goal.

I chose to work with Windows Movie Maker.  I created a short video for Kindergarteners that teaches them colors and names of animals. I used the orignial story/song: Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? as my video.  I retold the story as I created a slide show of each of the animals.
