Margret Virostek's Electronic Portfolio
"To extend the power of visual learning to younger students, Kidspiration was launched in January 2001. Early 2008 marked the debut of the most recent version of Kidspiration, which uses the proven principles of visual learning to help K-5 learners strengthen reading and writing skills, build conceptual understanding in math, and develop thinking skills across the curriculum." -Wikipedia

In this assignment we were to "create a Venn diagram, character map, and/or story web to actively engage {our} students in the learning process." (Diane Schrecker) There are two softwares that we could choose from, Inspiration which is used for 4-12th grade or Kidspiration which is used for preschool through 3rd grade. Since my area of focus is K-3, I chose Kidspiration to create my visual learning tool. Included in this visual learning tool were requirements such as: making sure that it was logically organized and connected, visually appealing and had atleast 4 working hyperlinks.

I have created a visual learning tool with Kidspiration on the topic of Chinese Culture.
